It aims to explore the art that relates to the territory, art, leaving the aseptic white cube of the gallery, is manifested in public places frequented by all and not only by an elite public, art that involves people making active part of the creative act. We could say, in essence, a democratization of art.


It 's the time of Julian and Marisa Balbi Ulcigrai. Two very different personalities: the first lists all intent on cards with pictures cut out, effectively inventing a new language: fototessitura, the second looking at the world with a personal, direct photographic gaze.

Giuliana Balbi for this event has created a new project that, for its function as a poster, of necessity comes as blow. The starting point is the usual job of weaving strips of photographic dilated down, backed by airy nylon threads that are also of consolidating the meanings of others, but here it is compacted in two-dimensional image, sucking in the surface operating modes otherwise mobile and loose in space and the theme is chosen depending on the plasma's usual road manifest, to communicate.




Giuliana Balbi is expressed metaphorically, does not outline a concept of direct communication, but reproduces the means by which most commonly takes place today: mobile phones. A tangled mass of cell occupies the space, highlighting the repeated presence, abnormal use that contemporary society makes. The title "necessary" for life "certainly reaffirms the usefulness of these instruments, but in same time, the chaotic mass highlights the messy excess that distorts a balanced use. Performance monitoring and at the same time then, but in bright colors as carefully calibrated between blue and brown, in any case becomes a place of visual seduction, who wins his eyes.

The title has several meanings . The 'habit' which in turn refers to the root of "habit", which can be either one you wear, that surrounds and protects the body, such as that which concerns the behavior, the custom of certain gestures, the way of being in relationship to others and themselves. In any case, something you do or use so customary, repetitive, constituting the 'habitus vivendi. "And yet the habit here is bound to an abstract entity, the mind, which still governs the dress in two versions and in turn leads to the definition of mental habit, that is the custom and available to receive - or "dress" - certain types of thought, of preconceived. All this - in other words, the "inside" and "outside" , visibility and the reworking of mind, the double and the whole of which we are made - is condensed in the work of Julia Balbi. That in itself is a job, to say the least, curious that the fusion of photography and weaving, the picture-weaving in fact, that captures images at the same time dissolves so that they become the warp and weft, a network that collects and combines two passions, the imagination can easily be fixed and that of weaving learned the local art school. It brings "live" sound and flavor, "finds", which is still hypothetical clothing retrieved and altered by tragedies such as shipwrecks, classified in the shuffle after the event, with badge. The "fabric Photograph" became a witness in any case "status" existential, document experiences and experiences, memories and emotions that pierce the packaging of a dress, which bind to the body and soul so that it is sap, revealing, in knots of nylon - yet functional, symbolic and airy cloud of an aesthetic nature - the difficulties of which is littered with life but also the closures arising from "schemes" preconceptions. The exhibition, in addition to clothes hangers, doth a series of images in the feminine, softened and twisted as usual, with a corollary of knots - then geography of disturbance of the soul - that sometimes tapes become more consistent .
